As we wrapped up Unit 2 of Spanish, students had a real treat as we had two guest speakers come & share with us about life in Colombia. Our guests shared their experiences working at a middle school in Colombia, and showed many pictures of the land, community, and food in Colombia. The students really enjoyed hearing about and seeing their images of life in South America.
At the conclusion of the unit, students were assessed on their interpersonal communication skills, by holding a conversation with a friend, asking and answering questions for each other.
This week, we began our next STEM Cultures course, Global Social Action. In this course, students will be looking at different social issues around the world, identifying an issue that they can connect with, and developing a solution for this issue. I’m looking forward to learning more about their perspectives!
