FitnessGram
Fitness is up and running in physical education class as students have begun their fall fitnessgram testing. Fitnessgram is a research based battery of tests that show students their current level of fitness based on 5 areas of health-related fitness components (Muscular Strength, Muscular Endurance, Flexibility, Cardiovascular Endurance, Body Composition).
The complete series of fitness tests will be given in the fall with a follow-up posttest in the spring to see changes and improvements. Students should use test results to establish personal fitness goals to work on over the year. It is recommended that students work on one area at a time, develop a strategy for improvement, and put their plan into practice. Progress checks should be done throughout the year with personalized rewards to help with motivation.
