During the month of December, students worked with the racket sport of badminton. Students learned the rules of the game and had the opportunity to play games of doubles with their peers. The Badminton culminated with a 56 team all school badminton doubles tournament that resulted in a 2017 STEM – Saratoga Campus champion.
The week before break students engaged in a physical education challenge course in which teams had to cooperate, collaborate, and work together as a team to analyze, problem solve, and help each other maneuver through a series of tough obstacles. Many were stretched to their limits, having to start over multiple times which actually challenged their ability to work as a part of a team. Some groups successfully accomplished their final goal pooling their skills as a team and learned to utilize the talents and strengths of all team members.
Then next unit after break will be basketball.
