ENGAGE... THINK... COLLABORATE... INNOVATE... CREATE... that is what this week is all about my friends!
Oh boy... the excitement is mounting! I have had some amazing conversations with students, staff and parents over the past week about the Great STEM Challenge- The Slow Roll Challenge! Folks are asking some great questions and I wanted to provide some quick clarity that will hopefully help. I'll also post this on our Saratoga website, as a reference down the road, but this is very time-sensitive, so wanted to directly connect with everyone at both campuses today.
- the competition is at both campuses this Wednesday
- there will be 6-8 ramps at each site, running all day long
- we will have ramps set up at both campuses starting tomorrow morning, for those who want to test out their bottle
- rubber bands are supplied by STEM, the day of the competition
- the schedule is listed on Saratoga website and was shared out last week
- parents are ALWAYS welcome to come in and check out the action
- we are going to attempt to live-stream this event, via YouTube and capture as much as we can... may be a bit difficult to capture the whole gym with a single camera, but we'll do our best (the link will be shared out by Weds. morning)
- only students who raise funds for the GSC, are eligible to win one of the prizes
- all students are able (and so very highly encouraged) to participate, even if they do not raise funds
- prizes and pizza parties will be discussed once the competition has concluded and I will work with Homerooms and Advisors to set up pizza party dates, and then let families know
- Kalahari prizes are being ordered on Monday and I will inform winning students of the arrangement the following week (dates will be flexible for sure, based on when families are looking to plan their mini get-away!)
- the money raised in other activities (City Tins & Entertainment Books) is not a part of this fund-raising activity
- there will be a celebration in December, for any and all students who brought in any type of fund-raising dollars through any of our fund-raisers thus far, at both campuses
I think this should help build some clarity on some of the questions that I have received, but please let me know if there is anything else out there, that seems a bit fuzzy and I will gladly help answer and trouble-shoot any scenarios and wonders.
