Thank you to the over 80 of you who signed up to compete in this year's Badminton tournament. Mr. Tuttle and I wanted to remind you that the tournament will be held this Tuesday, December 15th from 3:00 - 4:15 in the gym. We have included details below, but if you have any cares or concerns, please feel free to contact either Mr. Tuttle or Mr. Hoffmann at any time.
Format: Since we have a large number of teams, we will be playing a timed single elimination tournament. Once your team loses, you may head home if you have arranged a ride or feel free to watch on the side of the gym.
Time: While we list the time from 3:00 - 4:15, it maybe that you are done by 3:10 if you lose right away. Therefore, please have a plan and communication in place for any potential outcome.
Bracket: We will be posting a bracket and game numbers in the gym. Game numbers will be called out for play, so please refer to the chart to ensure you know your game time.
Rules: We plan on reviewing the rules and procedures prior to play on Tuesday. Please be prompt and ready to listen, so we can get started right away.

zack long achieves
eagle scout status

Last weekend, I had the honor of attending an Eagle Scout ceremony, that honored Mr. Zack Long. It was the first of any such event for me and I was truly amazed by the level of appreciation and supreme talent, along with respect and reflection on life as a whole. This young man has not only embraced leadership both in and outside of STEM, but has taken an oath to consistently lead people and do right by others, for his entire life. Core values rang true during this ceremony and each individual that spoke on behalf of Zach (including myself), had nothing but the highest regard for him... that was quite apparent.
Here is a reflection, written by Zack, when looking back on his journey so far and when thinking about his Eagle Scout induction:
"Earning the rank of Eagle Scout is a tremendous honor. Becoming Eagle means that you have worked through countless tasks that can start at pitching a tent or packing your bag all the way up to hiking for 2 weeks through Philmont scout ranch or scuba diving for a week in the Florida Keys. The steps leading up to Eagle teach you leadership, how to help others, and many other skills that can help you in the future or as we say in Scouts “preparing you for life”. An Eagle Scout is a well rounded person who knows what the core values of life are and what it means to help others and support your family."
