Hello Everyone!
I'm excited to announce that Butler M.S. will be hosting our first chess tournament this Saturday, January 30! It is open to all students, kindergarten through 12th grade. The cost is only $10 (in advance, $15 at the door) for a 5-round tournament. There are 3 divisions (K5, K8, K12). Trophies will be awarded to the top 5 individuals and top 3 teams in each division, with participation medals awarded to all participants. All registration is done online through the WSCF website. I have attached our flyer, as well as the superintendent's letter giving permission to advertise this event in our schools. We would really appreciate it if you could promote this event on your websites, by social media, and/or other ways you see fit. If your school has a chess team or club, would you please forward this message to the coach/advisor as well? Thank you so much for your support! :)
Jenny
P.S. If you have a young chess player at home or know any kids who play chess, please invite them, too! This tournament is open to all students; they do not need to be SDW students!
