Once the science class returned from spring break, we moved into developing our model for our solution to the problem we have spent the past four weeks researching. Students had a choice of how they wanted to create their model, either a physical prototype or a computer generated design. We launch several different apps or programs that students have access to through self-service to use during this process. The model expectations were found in assignment #13 and represent a summative assessment for our model standards for this unit. Students will submit their model, explanation, and all other details by the end of class on Friday, April 5th. We look forward to seeing all of the designs the students have worked so hard on all week.
The Next Steps
The final phase of the science solutions inquiry unit will be to develop a video presentation of the problem, solution, research and model. Students will have all next week (April 8th - 12th) to create and edit the video to fit all of the parameters of assignment #14. The video will serve as a base for the presentation students will be giving on Wednesday, April 17th. More details will be emailed directly to parents next week regarding times of the presentation, but please note that parents will be welcome to attend these presentations. Once we return from our long weekend (April 18th - 21st), we will be begin our final unit of the year on the human body.
