This Week in Our Science Fair Unit
The science class began experimenting this week. Thank you to all parents who completed the parental approval of their student’s project. At this point, students should have their materials list checked off (assignment #5), their experiment analysis (assignment #4), and they should have finished their procedures (assignment #7) of this week in class. Students will have Monday of next week to continue to experiment and the week we return from Thanksgiving break. All experiments should wrap up by Friday, December 6th. Students should have all of their materials labeled and important items kept in their lockers during this process.
The Next Steps Forward in Science Fair
Once students complete the experimentation phase of the project, they will research why they got the results they did and build the case why their trials were relevant to a broader problem. The research will be used as part of the presentation students will give during the week of December 16th, when they go public with their findings. Students have already review assignments #8 & #9, which detail out expectations for the website they will create and the requirements of pictorial recordings during testing. The website should be completed no later than Tuesday, December 17th.
