As we look toward the coming month in Future Cities, some key important dates and experiences will be happening to help ensure the success of our students. Please review these dates below and feel free to let your student's Future Cities teacher know if you have any questions.
Tuesday, November 20th
We will be participating in a field trip, where we will be seeing a new construction that is underway in Milwaukee and how the planning of that building occurs. We will also be seeing the Fiserv Forum to help students understand how a complex of that size operates and everything it takes to maintain the structure.
Friday, November 30th
Students will need to have the essay completed at this point for final reviews and preparation for submission.
Tuesday, December 4th: (2:45 - 3:30)
Thursday, December 6th: (2:45 - 3:30)
Tuesday, December 11th: (2:45 - 3:30)
Thursday, December 13th: (2:45 - 3:30)
Tuesday, December 18th: (2:45 - 3:30)
During the dates and times listed above, the Future Cities team will be offering an optional after school work time for students looking to finish up their model. Parents and students should please plan ahead and have rides arranged ahead of time, so a prompt 3:30 pick-up can occur.

Tuesday, December 18th
The Future Cities model will be completed by this point in preparation for presentation.
Thursday, December 20th
Students will be offering their final presentation and model to a group of judges for our whole school competition. Students will be evaluated for entry into the district competition. Students who do not make the district competition will be able to take their model home at this time.
Friday, January 11th
Students who advanced to the district competition will participate in a whole day judging event around their model, group presentation, and individual judging events. Saratoga will select its top scoring teams to move onto the MSOE competition.
Saturday, January 26th
On Saturday, teams will compete in a regional Future Cities experience at the MSOE Kern Center. Most of the competition occurs during the morning and afternoon hours. However, should a team be in the top 5, they will have an extra presentation in the afternoon. Students will be responsible for transporting the model to MSOE and for their own ride. More times and specifics will be coming out as our teams advance.
