The Future Cities students have now spent the better part of two weeks working on researching solutions to common problems the elderly face and how our society of the future will work to address those concerns. Students should have complete two research documents, which are posted on Google Classroom. These research documents contain information the student gathered from reading articles about how they might solve the specific problem their team chose to focus on these past two weeks. The team is relying on each team member to do their part, so they will have a wide assortment of options for their essay.
Next week, the teams will begin their SIM City simulation. During the past week, Mr. Sonier and Mr. Hoffmann met with the representatives who will be completing the SIM City reflection to work on establishing goals and setting up the templates for their reflections. They also met with the SIM players to give them playing tips for the game. The SIM players and reflectors will need to utilize their time wisely to ensure they complete all parts necessary.
Start Saving Recyclables
One way that families can start helping their students will be in saving recyclables. The model portion of the project, which we will start later, requires the use of recyclable to build. Successful teams during this phase of the project have a wide variety of materials with which to work. Students will be assigned bins in the coming weeks when they can start bringing these recyclables to school.
