
Welcome to the STEM Choir Family! Have you ever wondered what exactly happens in choir class?
Read on to learn more about what we do in choir and what you can look forward to this year. You can also stop by any time during Core 3 and Core 4 to catch us in action!
Wisconsin State Music Standards:
Create: Learning music symbols, annotations, and techniques for group singing
Perform: Singing what we have learned in class, and singing for an audience at concerts
Connect: Using music to make connections among cultures, subjects, and humanity
Respond: Sharing thoughts about our own and others’ performances
STEM Choir Classroom Expectations:
1. Arrive to class on time
2. Have all your supplies (pencils, ipad, folder)
3. Participate fully with appropriate behavior, reflecting pride in yourself
4. Be supportive of your classmates
5. No food or gum in class (This is a serious choking hazard.)
6. Attend concerts (Choir is a team activity. All concerts are mandatory and graded as a summative.)
Performance Schedule:
* Winter Concert - Dec. 10th, 7:00pm @ North HS Auditorium (mandatory)
* Spring Concert - May 12th, 7:00pm @ North HS Auditorium (mandatory)
* WSMA Festival - March 14th, All Day @ West HS (optional)
* Other performances TBA
Concert Uniform - should look professional (see photo)
* Shirt: Plain, opaque white dress shirt
(No designs, logos, cut-outs, or sheer fabrics. Sleeves must cover shoulders)
* Pants/Skirt: Plain black from the waist to the floor
(Including socks, tights, and shoes)
(Important Note: Uniform pieces may be borrowed from our Concert Closet upon request. Subject to availability.)
