Exciting things are happening in the music room this month! The students are making great progress with their concert music!
Our concert is quickly approaching. December 19th will be here before we know it! An email has been sent home with the following information about the concert:
The Saratoga Band, Orchestra, and Choir students will be performing in the South High School Auditorium on Tuesday, December 19th. The concert begins at 6:30. Band and Orchestra Students should report at 6:00 to warm up and get tuned. The concert should hopefully be around an hour in length. Beginning percussion students should plan on bringing their bell kit with them to the concert. Cello and Bass Students may want to bring a rockstop or chair strap.
The dress code expectations for the concert is to wear dress clothes.Their clothes do not need to be a specific color. Please avoid jeans or sweat/athletic pants. I would ask that guys wear a button down shirt or a polo shirt. Ties are optional. Ladies can wear pants, skirts, dresses-whatever they are comfortable in. I would recommend leggings or tights. I know there have been different dress codes in the past and if the students still wish to wear their concert black or white/black combo, that is okay.
Please make every effort to have your student in attendance. If a conflict should arise, and your student cannot attend, please send me an email or send a note with your student to school. Do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions.
Students will be rehearsing for the concerts during morning FLEX times. They should be checking Google Classroom for reminders on which date their rehearsal takes place.
Looking ahead: If your student is interested in participating in the district Solo and Ensemble event March 3rd at West High School, they should start thinking about what kind of event they would like to play in (Solo, Duet, Trio, etc).
We look forward to seeing you at the concert!
