WSA Student Council is an organization with a mission to serve the school through leadership, community development, and service projects. As a Student Council member, you will have an exciting opportunity to create positive change in our school, and you will also be expected to serve as a role model to other students.
Our Student Council is composed of five representatives from each grade level and six officers. Elections for 7th and 8th graders are held in May for the following school year. Elections for 6th graders are held for the current year in late September.
If you have any questions regarding Student Council please feel free to contact an advisor.

Math counts
MATHCOUNTS shows students how math has meaning and value beyond the confines of the classroom.
MATHCOUNTS is effective because we provide students with experiences that simply cannot be replicated in the classroom. An experience with MATHCOUNTS can mean the difference between self-doubt and self-confidence. It can turn today’s math students into tomorrow’s innovators, scientists, engineers and doctors.
MATHCOUNTS has a place and a program for every kid!
Homework club
Homework club runs Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 2:50-4:00pm, and students are expected to arrive on time and stay through 4:00pm. There is no cost, and there is no formal sign up. Attendance is taken on days that students participate, and students are welcome to attend as needed. Homework Club offers a silent, structured work environment, with a 10 minute break included. The expectation is that students come to work or receive support for work on which they need assistance. This is not a time for gaming or socializing. During Homework Club, students must remain in room 111, and they are unable to access the computer lab. If students need to leave Homework Club prior to 4pm, please notify Ms. Cavanaugh and Mx. Kenyon.
